On the occasion of its 20th edition, Expoquimia, Fira de Barcelona International Chemistry Meeting, organizes next Wednesday, May 31, a gala dinner that will bring together the main businessmen and executives of the chemical industry of our country, as well as personalities from the institutional, social and economic world. The event, which will take place in the Oval Room of the emblematic Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya (MNAC) will highlight the business importance of this industry, which supplies products and technologies to 98% of the productive sectors and is key to promoting sustainable development.
Served by the prestigious Catalan chef Nandu Jubany, awarded with a Michelin star, the gala dinner will be attended by the directors of the main firms and associations that make up the Spanish chemical industry, promoting networking at the highest level. Due to their synergies and common objectives in the field of the circular economy, representatives of companies and entities in the plastics sector, which participate in the fair, will also attend. Equiplast which is held together with Expoquimia. Overall, more than 500 people linked to both sectors are expected to attend, as well as institutional representatives and entities related to the business and economic fabric.
El president of Expoquimia, Carles Navarroexplains: "with this social event we bring our challenges as a sector closer to the institutional and economic world, making visible the cohesion and economic power of the chemical industry, the most innovative and exporting among all the productive sectors of our country."
The gala dinner will feature the participation of the president of the European Chemical Industry Council (Cefic) and CEO of BASF, Martin Brudermüller. Likewise, during the event, the “Best in class” program awards for the classrooms will be awarded. Expoquimia and Equiplast to four innovative projects, examples of sustainable business transformation in different sectors thanks to chemistry. He will also receive a special tribute for his career and outstanding work in the sector, the founder and president emeritus of Expoquimia, doctor Rafael Foguet.
In the organization of this exclusive activity, Expoquimia has the support of the companies BASF, Bondalti, Carburos Metálicos, Grupo IQE, Nippon Gases and Quimidroga as main sponsors, as well as the collaboration of Cepsa, Covestro, Dow, Ercros, FEIQUE, IQS- Universitat Ramon Llull, Kemira, Lleal, Catalan Society of Chemistry, Siemens and Fluid Technique.
Expoquimia, together with Equiplast, will be held from May 30 to June 2 in pavilion 3 of the Gran Via of Fira de Barcelona, bringing together almost 600 direct exhibitors representing more than 1.500 brands from the chemical and plastic sectors.
