In the framework of the 15th anniversary of his arrival in Morocco, Gonzalo Gortázar, CEO of CaixaBank, has reaffirmed the entity's commitment to the North African country during his visit to Casablanca. In his speech, Gortázar highlighted the key role of Morocco as economic hub in the regionhighlighting that "the transformation that Morocco has experienced in recent years, with great progress in its economic development, political and business stability, gives us confidence to continue to firmly support the country."
CaixaBank's international network continues to offer support to corporate clients in more than 72 countries, with 30 points of presence and agreements with more than 1.600 correspondent banks.
CaixaBank, which has three offices in Morocco – Casablanca, Tangier and Agadir— has positioned itself as the reference bank for Spanish companies in the country, with 60% of the 800 Spanish companies operating in Morocco as clients of the entity, according to data from the ICEX - Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade.
During his stay, Gortázar met with the Minister of Finance of Morocco, Nadia Fettah-Alaoui, business and financial representatives, and the team from the CaixaBank office in Casablanca. In addition, he participated in an event organized by the Tanja Foundation, where he stressed that sectors such as renewable energy, infrastructure, transport and sustainable tourism present great opportunities for the future, driven by projects such as the World Cup 2030.
