COFIDES has granted a co-investment loan of 3,5 million euros to Pachs's limes, funds that will be allocated to the expansion of its lime processing plant located in Maxieira, FatimaThis financial injection, coming from the Fund for Investment Operations Abroad for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (FONPYME), is part of a total investment project of around 14 million euros that will allow the company's Portuguese subsidiary to double its current production capacity.
COFIDES' financing will focus on the acquisition of key fixed assets for the expansion, including a new calcining kiln, a biomass plant, and storage silos.
This operation marks the third collaboration between COFIDES and Cales de Pachs in the Portuguese market, where the Catalan company began its journey in 2005 with the partial acquisition of Microlime, of which it currently owns 100% of the shares.
Miguel Ángel Ladero, corporate director of the COFIDES Investment Department, expressed his satisfaction at accompanying Cales de Pachs in its growth in Portugal Since 2014, the company has been recognized for its "strong commitment to innovation" and the "fruitful collaboration" forged through FONPYME. Ladero is confident that this new investment will consolidate the company's position as a "leading group in the sector."

This project is directly aligned with the Sustainable Development Goal number 9, by promoting the local production of various types of lime, which will optimize the use of local resources and guarantee supply to multiple essential industries.
