The mission involves 11 Catalan companies from the chemical, medical, lighting and packaging sectors
The Sabadell Chamber of Commerce begins a trade mission tomorrow to the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United Arab Emirates, within the framework of the International Action Plan of the Council of Chambers of Catalonia and the COPCA corresponding to this year.
The trade mission, which will last until October 26, involves 11 Catalan companies, who will maintain more than one hundred contacts with companies, employers' organizations and official entities of these countries during these days.
The initiative has the participation of the Chambers of Commerce of Terrassa and Manresa, which together with the Sabadell Chamber form La Tricameral, and the collaboration of the Spanish Commercial Offices in Tehran and Dubai, reports the chamber entity.
The participating companies, which come from different towns in the Vallès, Bages and Barcelonés regions, belong to the medical equipment, chemical products, lighting, packaging, food raw materials and machinery sectors, among others.
Vicenç Vicente, the mission coordinator and head of International Promotion at the Sabadell Chamber of Commerce, told Efe that "these are complex markets, but extremely interesting for Catalan companies, as demonstrated by the good results obtained so far."
Over the past few years, the Sabadell Chamber of Commerce has promoted a total of eight trade missions to these countries, with the participation of almost one hundred companies, most of which have long maintained a regular commercial presence in Iran and the United Arab Emirates.
The Sabadell Chamber of Commerce has indicated that Iran, with its unique but stable political framework, has a potential market of 65 million inhabitants, while the United Arab Emirates, especially Dubai, plays a strategic role as the main distribution center for goods in the Persian Gulf region.
