The Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia, Sun Chanthol, has emphasized in Madrid the opening of his government to Spanish companies and investment during a business meeting organized by the Chamber of Spain, the Secretary of State for Commerce through ICEX Spain Export and Investment, and CEOE.

 

Chanthol emphasized his government's commitment as a "facilitator of the private sector" to boost investment in an "economy without restrictions." Cambodia is presenting itself as an attractive gateway for the Spanish companies, offering access to a market of 2.300 billion consumers in the Asian region (RCEP) and a liberal economic policy with high levels of productivity and efficiency.

 

The Secretary of State for Commerce, Amparo LopezHe highlighted the experience and potential of Spanish companies to contribute to Cambodia's development plans. "Spain has the potential to play a significant role in Cambodia's transformation process," he stated. "Spanish companies are recognized globally for their leadership in areas such as infrastructure, sustainable energy, food, healthcare products, and tourism. Their innovative solutions, extensive experience, and cutting-edge technology can benefit Cambodia's development initiatives."

 

The meeting has been an opportunity to deepen the economic relations between Spain and Cambodia and explore new opportunities for collaboration in strategic sectors for both countries.

 

Immaculate Riera, general director of the Chamber of Spain, has pointed out the rapid growth of the Cambodian economy, its stable environment and its strategic position in the Southeast Asia“Cambodia is embarking on an ambitious agenda in which the Spanish private sector could become more involved,” he asserted. “Tourism, the pharmaceutical industry, energy, water management, agribusiness, and transport and logistics infrastructure are just some examples of areas for cooperation.
