An exclusive meeting in Brussels, scheduled for the end of September, will serve as a showcase for the region's gastronomic gems, seeking to establish solid commercial connections with importers, distributors and prescribers of international prestige.
This ambitious event, which will celebrate its first edition on September 29th in the central Excellis Centre Brussels, will offer Cantabrian companies the opportunity to exhibit and offer tastings of their gourmet products. In addition, a live cooking demonstration will be held by a local chef, who will reinterpret Cantabrian ingredients to adapt them to Belgian tastes. The day will culminate with a networking event designed to foster dialogue and potential collaborations between companies. Cantabria and professionals from the European agri-food sector.
Companies interested in participating in this trade mission have until April 28 to formalize their registration. It should be noted that travel costs may be included in the application for international trade promotion grants. SODERCAN is open until April 30.
This initiative has the support of the Food Quality Office of Cantabria (OCAS) And Office of the Government of Cantabria in Brussels, which underscores the institutional commitment to the internationalization of the regional agri-food sector. During the event, Cantabrian producers will have the opportunity to present their delicatessen to a select audience, including gourmet importers, cash & carry companies, professionals from the Horeca sector, buyers from large-scale retailers, as well as representatives from hotels, gourmet stores, catering companies, chefs, and food journalists specializing in diverse areas such as wine and lifestyle.
Beyond mere commercial exchange, the event seeks to generate added value by fostering contact with renowned chefs, critics, and food influencers, as well as prestigious restaurateurs in Belgium.
This action is part of the I Cantabria Internationalization Plan 2025-2028 and seeks to capitalize on the attractiveness of the Belgian market, which, with nearly 12 million inhabitants and a high GDP per capita, is positioned as a key importer of Spanish products. Its openness to new suppliers, its high level of cuisine, and the positive appreciation for the quality, innovation, and sustainability of Spanish products make it a priority destination for Cantabrian companies.
