Fundamental aspects are addressed in the face of a complicated environment

During the meeting, the focus was placed on the scenario that currently exists under the Trump administration "especially due to the uncertainty generated when doing business with the United States."


Analyze the aspects that must be taken into account by Spanish companies with presence in American market or who want to start their activity there, has been the purpose of the conference “The new era of Doing Business in the US”, held this Thursday at the Madrid Chamber of Commerce.

 

During the meeting the focus was placed on the scenario that currently exists under the administration Trump “especially due to the uncertainty that is generated when doing business with United States" has explained Nadja Vietz, lawyer at Monereo Meyer Abogados.

 

The specialists have addressed fundamental topics such as legal aspects and developments that companies face when doing business in and with the USA,  immigration requirements, tax reform, recent trade policy measures or developments in the Double Taxation Treaty between the US and Spain and they wanted to highlight that there are different options for companies to face the complicated environment. “The law can seem very strict in terms of what you can do or not do,” he noted. Frederic Rocafort, lawyer at Harris BrickenHowever, “an expert advisor who not only knows the applicable law but also knows the clients' particular circumstances can identify those aspects that can make the situation favorable,” he stressed.

 

U.S. is the main trading partner of Spain out of the European Union and during the day it was pointed out that regardless of the current circumstances, the country will continue to be a priority trade partner.
