El CEOE president, Antonio Garamendi, has inaugurated the business meeting 'Investing in Morocco for common prosperity', held at the headquarters of the business organization, highlighting that “Morocco and Spain are two complementary economies,” and inviting them to “take advantage of our respective competitive advantages.”

The inaugural session of the meeting, organized by CEOE in collaboration with the Secretary of State for Commerce and the Chamber of Commerce of Spain, has also had the participation of the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism of Spain, Hector Gomez, who commented that the meeting that took place prior to the event has been “very productive”, and has expressed confidence that the relationship between both countries “evolves, advances and develops successfully”.

 

The president of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, José Luis Bonet, highlighted in his speech “the new opportunities that Morocco offers as an international business platform”, as well as its role as “strategic partner of Spain in all areas”, and has opted “for long-term alliances with local partners”

 

On the Moroccan side, the minister delegate to the head of Government in charge of Investment, Convergence and Evaluation of Public Policies in Morocco, Mohcine Jazouli, recalled “the strong and historical ties” that exist between both countries and the “18 agreements or protocols” signed, as “a basis for a significant improvement in cooperation.” “Morocco is a land of opportunities and a reliable partner,” she highlighted, with a “diversified and modern” economy, which “serves as a gateway to Africa”. However, in his opinion, “there is significant room for improvement in the investment sphere: Spain is the fifth foreign investor in Morocco”, He said.

 

The president of the General Confederation of Moroccan Companies (CGEM), Chakib Alj, has stated that the Alawite country “offers enormous potential for growth and investment”, and has encouraged “investors to think of Morocco as a platform for market growth”. “We have an incredible opportunity to take advantage of the potential that the African continent offers,” she highlighted.
