CEOE presents its 2020 Digital Plan to Álvaro Nadal

The Plan includes 215 proposals

Calls for a State Pact for digitalisation and proposes measures that would achieve a 3,2% increase in GDP in 2020.

This pact would serve to promote digital development and ensure the execution of the Plan through a series of premises, among which: CEOE highlights one Commission in the Congress of Deputies to monitor its progress and ensure an appropriate legislative framework, coordination with the corresponding European plans and social dialogue on the work of the future.

 

The 215 proposals contemplated in the Plan aim to add to Spain to the group of European countries that leads digitalisation. To do this, it is necessary to improve the relative position of our country in two specific indices: the NRI index (Networked Readiness Index), where they intend to place Spain among the top 20 positions; and the index DESI (Digital Economy and Society Index), where Spain should be in the top 10.

 

The business proposals, in this sense, will contribute to increasing the GDP by 3,2% in 2020 and generating 250.000 new jobs, provided that what is needed is revitalized. digital plan It calls “three basic pillars”: Education, Innovation and Entrepreneurship. In addition, the involvement of all Public Administrations and all productive sectors is required.

 

According to CEOE, these approaches are essential for the irreversible and necessary process of digitalization to strengthen competitiveness, boost growth, create employment, sustain social benefits, reduce economic and social differences, increase quality of life and place Spain in a prominent position in global digitalization.

 

The Plan presented, which is transversal and is prepared based on proposals from the organizations and companies integrated in CEOE, highlights as one of its objectives to present the business position on this matter and to become the reference for dialogue with the various Spanish and European administrations and with the rest of social agents. To this end, it contains chapters on the digitalisation of the Public Sector, that of the productive sectors and their companies and that of citizens.

 

 

The plan aims to add Spain to the group of European countries that lead digitalization

 

 

As regards the Public Sector, CEOE proposes to promote a complete e-government whose contacts with companies and citizens are completely digital. It also calls for increasing the budget allocations for investment projects in digital matters, among other issues.

 

With regard to the productive sectors, businessmen advocate developing a National Digital Transformation Program with awareness-raising actions and support for the transformation of the most employment-intensive productive sectors and their contribution to GDP. In addition, the promotion of digital technology for the automation of functions, the application of these technologies to sales processes or the digital transformation of business models is requested.

 

El CEOE Plan The report focuses in detail on the area of ​​small and medium-sized enterprises. It calls for an effort to raise awareness and encourage companies by type of activity and size. It thus proposes the development of a large project specifically for their digitalisation, which could be called “Digital SME” and which would work on several axes, such as raising awareness of the benefits of digitalisation for productivity or training in digital skills.

 

In addition, efficient resource management must be added with the application of techniques of Big Data to implement intelligence systems and predictive models, a support plan for the renewal of the installed base of technological solutions older than 4 years or to facilitate the use of electronic invoicing.
