A tariff reduction will be applied
The Indian government has finally ratified the preferential agreement signed a year ago with Chile for the partial reduction of tariffs on trade between the two countries, the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced last week in a statement.
Chilean exports of industrial products, timber, wool, newsprint, copper, iodine, meat, and fish will benefit from the tariff reduction. Tariffs will also be lowered on other Indian exports, such as agricultural products, pharmaceuticals, textiles, plastics, and leather goods and clothing.
The statement highlights that Chile is "India's largest trading partner in Latin America."
