Baviera Clinic, consolidation of an ophthalmological giant in Europe

Bavaria Clinic has reported robust financial performance during the first half of 2025, reaching revenues of €154,7 million, representing an 18% increase compared to the same period last year. This growth is complemented by an €11,6 million investment in the modernization and expansion of its clinic network, consolidating its position as a leader in the European ophthalmology sector.

The Consolidation of an Ophthalmological Giant in Europe

During the first six months of 2025, Clínica Baviera has reaffirmed its commitment to strategic growth in Europe, reinforcing its leadership in the field of Ophthalmology. Despite the initial challenges in the market of United Kingdom, where the company entered in June 2024 after the acquisition of Optimax, the consolidated results show a positive trajectory and solid operations.

Total revenue, which reached €154,7 million, reflects a significant 18% year-over-year increase. Excluding the contribution from the United Kingdom, this growth remains at a significant 11%. The expansion has been driven primarily by excellent performance in its key markets:

Spain: with a 12% increase in revenue, reaching 103,8 million euros.

Germany: registering an 11% increase, with 31,1 million euros.

Italy: up 6% to €11,5 million.

United Kingdom: contributing €8,4 million in revenue.

Consolidated EBITDA amounted to €44,5 million, representing a 6% increase despite the impact of the Optimax acquisition. Excluding the UK market, adjusted pro forma EBITDA would have reached €47,4 million, representing a 13% increase compared to the first half of 2024.

En ItalyThe slight decrease in EBITDA compared to the previous year is attributed to non-recurring expenses related to the adaptation of clinics from the B2B to B2C model, a strategy that seeks to improve efficiency and direct patient acquisition in the medium term. In the United Kingdom, the company emphasized that expansion in this market requires a considerable initial investment and a gradual maturation period, with the recorded EBITDA falling within the business plan forecasts.

The group's net profit stood at €22,8 million. Excluding the UK, pro forma profit reached €26,8 million, representing a 12% increase compared to 2024. This figure underscores the strength of the existing business and its ability to integrate and absorb new strategic investments.
