The public-private entity COFIDES has formalized a strategic investment of up to 150 million euros in Summit Platform, a pioneering platform dedicated to the hybridization of renewable energies in EspañaThe operation, carried out using the Fondo de Coinversión (FOCO)It is executed in conjunction with the infrastructure manager Equitix to boost the country's wind, solar and storage capacity.
Strategic alliance for energy sovereignty
La Summit Platform It was born with the ambition to transform the national energy landscape. Through collaboration with local developers such as Capital EnergyThe platform focuses on the development, construction, and operation of assets that combine diverse generation sources. The operational objective is ambitious: to achieve the 1,4 gigawatts (GW) of total capacity for fiscal year 2030.
Currently, the asset portfolio already has a solid foundation of 330 megawatts (MW) in the operation and construction phase. This is in addition to others 200 MW additional ones that are in the development phase, strategically distributed in the autonomous communities of Castilla y León, Castilla-La Mancha, Aragón y Navarra.

Impact on foreign investment and technology
El Fondo de Coinversión (FOCO) This operation fulfills one of its main mandates: the mobilization of foreign capital into strategic sectors. In this project, COFIDES co-invest with Equitix —a European leader in infrastructure fund management— and also has the participation of a Australian institutional investor.
For the president and CEO of COFIDES, Ángela PérezThis commitment is fundamental because of its "scale, technological innovation and climate relevance"According to the directive, the combination of hybridization solutions guarantees a positive environmental impact and sustained growth of renewable generation in the Spanish market.
For its part, Achal Bhuwania, Investment Director of Equitix, has highlighted that this platform constitutes a "essential national infrastructure" which strengthens energy security. "Our goal is to ensure that the platform is resilient, scalable, and capable of enabling the next generation of low-carbon energy."the executive stated.
- Boost to hybridization: combination of wind, solar photovoltaic and battery technology.
- Attracting capital: international co-investment from the United Kingdom and Australia.
- Sustainability: progress towards the goal of net zero emissions and industrial decarbonization.
