The brand has opened stores in the Netherlands, Serbia, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia, among other countries.
The Spanish group Cortefiel has decided not to acquire the Antonio Miró fashion chain because it is more focused on the international expansion of its business, company sources confirmed to EFE.
The option to purchase 60 percent of Antonio Miro expired in September and the company agreed not to exercise this option, although the ten-year licensing agreement with this firm continues, which remains present in 25 Cortefiel stores in Spain and one in Portugal.
The group, one of the leading European companies in the fashion sector in the specialist chain segment, operates through the firms Cortefiel, Pedro del Hierro, Springfield, Milano and Women'secret and already has 1290 stores in 48 countries worldwide.
The brand's international expansion began at the end of last year with openings in the Netherlands, Serbia, Egypt and Saudi Arabia, and plans to enter countries such as Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Cyprus, Malaysia and Singapore.
Last September, the Cortefiel chain opened its first store in Beirut, reaffirming the company's interest in the Middle East through the franchise model.
