The Barcelona Free Zone Consortium (CZFB) has presented the third edition of the Barcelona New Economy Week (BNEW) in the emblematic building DFactory. From October 3 to 6, this event will once again turn Barcelona into the world capital of the new economy.

During the four days, BNEW will bring together 600 speakers who will offer up to 180 hours of content distributed in 130 panels, sessions and debates. This international event will also have a forecast of more than 12.000 attendees from more than 100 countries. This successful format encompasses seven main sectors of this global transformation: Digital Industry, Invest, Sustainability, Mobility, Real Estate, Talent and Experience.

The media have received a special welcome from Pepper, a humanoid robot from the Alisys company with DFactory offices, the ecosystem that promotes the promotion and development of the digital industry in Europe, as an example of the avant-garde advances that are taking place in this building. After this, both Pere Navarro, special delegate of the State in the CZFB, as Blanca Sorigué, general director of the CZFB, have addressed the media present to explain the importance of organizing this event as an organization that promotes the new economy 4.0. In addition, they presented the different verticals and content that will be discussed during these days.

This presentation has also been followed by many media through streaming thanks to the platform provided by the CZFB. As Pere Navarro has explained, “BNEW aims to unite the entire new economy industry under one banner to build together the roadmap of the future.” The delegate also assured that "the CZFB works to promote the transformation of the productive fabric and reinforce the projection of the city of Barcelona and its metropolitan region at an international level."

Blanca Sorigué, for her part, has stated that “The 7 selected verticals have also been proposed transversally; Thus we find issues of sustainability, digitalization or equality in any of them.” Furthermore, he has emphasized that "these panels have been expressly selected according to the most current trends and exploring multiple aspects related to the new opportunities and the dizzying economic and technological transformations that we are experiencing."

BNEW 2022 will have 7 verticals: Digital Industry, Invest, Sustainability, Mobility, Real Estate, Talent and Experience

DFactory, the avant-garde stage of the CZFB

After two years marked by the restrictions of the pandemic, the CZFB is betting on in-person attendance in this edition. The modern DFactory building will be the star of all conferences, panels and experiences. This avant-garde center is also a tool to promote the transformation of the Spanish productive framework and supports companies during their digitalization process, thus promoting the creation of an ecosystem to attract talent, technology and investment. In fact, in its short history, it already has an occupancy rate of 50%, with 30 companies and 500 people working in a single 17.000 square meter building.

However, the CZFB continues to support a hybrid event thanks to its digital platform where all activities can be followed from anywhere in the world, both live and recorded.
