Tourist boating season on the Moskva River has ended

Cargo ships and technical vessels will cease navigation on the Moskva River next November

The Moscow shipping company ended the tourist navigation season on the Moskva River, which has been traversed by one million travelers since last April.

"Tourist cruises around the Russian capital were closed until mid-April 2008 due to the drop in temperatures which, in turn, reduced demand for these services to virtually zero," said a spokesman for the Moscow shipping company.

This season the company used a total of 40 tourist boats of different types on the Moskva River, the source added, quoted by the Itar-Tass agency.
