Data to be optimistic in 2025 in road freight transport

I am also a realist. I am in daily contact with many Transport They tell me their doubts and concerns, and it is clear that we have a lot of challenges ahead. We could make a catastrophic speech, talk once again about the problems we already know, but the truth is that there are too many positive data to insist on thinking that things are going to get worse.

Let's start with the latest data from activity of the Ministry of Transport, relating to the third quarter. From July to September, the road freight transport has moved a total of 418 million tonnes in Spain, almost 8% more than the same quarter of the previous year. With this evolution, everything points to 2024 closing with the best activity result since 2009. We have to go back no less than 15 years to find a year with more traffic on the roads.

A relevant aspect is that this rise is produced exclusively by domestic flows. In a year marked by inflation and economic uncertainty in the European context, and especially in key countries for our country, international traffic such as Germany or France, economic activity continues to reactivate in Spain and, therefore, generating more movement for our trucks.

In order to assess this economic capacity, it is essential to review industrial production and the expectations with which companies operate for the coming months. In this regard, the outlook for Spanish manufacturers points to a stable situation, with an improvement in the order book and production expectations, and confidence that the global business environment will improve over the next twelve months.

These Signs of strength in the Spanish manufacturing sector They are the best catalyst for road freight transport. Business optimism is the most encouraging sign that in 2025 we will be able to consolidate the volume growth that we have already seen in our traffic. In addition, the stability of orders is an opportunity to better plan the supply chain, with greater precision, better use of load capacity and lower operating costs.

It remains to be seen whether the sector will become more profitable. For the moment, the average price per kilometre is growing at a rate of 2024% in 2,1, the sector's turnover is up a timid 0,8% until September, while transport costs are increasing by 3,5% until the third quarter.

En Red & Pallets We know that the mother of all battles is fought in this gap between income and expenses and that it is not enough to move more tons. Business profitability is the axis on which we have structured our network, because we are convinced that the activity of our branches must be sustainable and we have designed all our operations with this objective in mind. And we are proving it.

2024 has been our launch year, with the launch of a network that we have built from scratch and that already connects the entire Peninsula, Canary Islands and Balearic IslandsWe are prepared for 2025 to mean a great leap in our activity volumes, to move towards the goal of becoming the largest and best palletised transport network in Spain and Portugal. We are very optimistic and we have plenty of reasons to be so.
