The president of the Provincial Council of Huelva, David Toscano, received in the Plenary Hall of the provincial body a delegation of mayors, municipal councilors and businessmen from the Colombian region of Antioch.
During the meeting, Toscano was accompanied by Juan Antonio Márquez, president of the Economic and Social Council of Huelva, and Rocío Cárdenas, mayor of San Juan del Puerto, a municipality twinned with Guatapé, Antioquia, since 2008.
The president highlighted the importance of these types of meetings to strengthen ties with Latin America, especially with Colombia, which he described as a "sister land of great opportunities."
In his speech, Toscano expressed his confidence that "this meeting will be the beginning of new projects and alliances that will bring mutual benefits," and added that the province of Huelva will continue working to build a more prosperous future for both regions.
Later, in the University of HuelvaToscano was awarded a recognition for international cooperation, highlighting the importance of collaboration between institutions and companies for the development of initiatives that promote shared growth.
