Barcelona consolidates itself as a global benchmark in industry 4.0 by hosting the first edition of the Global AM Hubs Summit, an international forum dedicated to additive manufacturing, also known as 3D printing. This pioneering event, driven by the Barcelona Free Trade Zone Consortium (CZFB), will bring together key players in the sector to discuss the future of advanced manufacturing.
El Global AM Hubs Summit It will not only be a platform for knowledge sharing, but will also serve as the official launch of Addliance, a new European alliance of 3D printing hubs. The goal of this initiative is to establish a stable international collaboration framework to accelerate the adoption of these technologies in the industry.
The summit, which will focus on the pillars of People, planet and prosperity, will address crucial topics such as the impact of additive manufacturing on various sectors, from healthcare and mobility to defense and sustainability. It will also discuss the development of specialized talent, cross-border cooperation, and the role of these technologies in Europe's industrial competitiveness and resilience.
Pere Navarro, special delegate of the State to the CZFB, expressed his satisfaction at hosting this meeting: “We are very pleased that DFactory Barcelona be the venue for this first meeting and this important international forum that will bring together Europe's leading 3D printing and additive manufacturing ecosystems. This is a historic milestone that will allow, through public-private partnerships, to project a shared vision of the transformative role of additive technologies in industry. All of this will take place in Barcelona, specifically at the DFactory.".
For its part, Blanca Sorigué, general director of the CZFB, added that the event “DFactory Barcelona reaffirms its position as the benchmark Industry 4.0 ecosystem in Europe and the cathedral of the digital transformation of the industry.".
The event program includes a full series of lectures, panel discussions, and presentations. Attendees will have the opportunity to witness live demonstrations and explore a Application & Technology Showroom where leading companies in the sector will present their solutions, materials, and success stories. Networking activities and visits to centers of excellence and innovative companies in Catalonia will also be organized.
