Dragados Industrial secures $140 million contract in Iran

Intecsa-Uhde, a company belonging to Dragados Industrial (Dinsa), has signed a contract to develop the engineering project and supply equipment for the construction of a new petrochemical complex for the production of olefins and derivatives in Bandar Assaluyhe, Iran, a port area near the Persian Gulf. The two-year, $140 million contract will be carried out for PARS, a subsidiary of the Iranian national petrochemical company NPC, with Sazeh Engineering as the local partner.

Dragados Industrial, through Intecsa-Uhde, had previously worked in Iran. Specifically, this is the third contract it has secured with the country's energy sector. In 1995, it signed a contract with Pidec for the engineering and equipment supply project for the high-density polyethylene plant at the Amir Kabir petrochemical complex in Bandar Iman, and in 2000 it was awarded the contract to supply equipment and materials for the sixth olefins plant for Eied, also at the same complex.
