DS Smith Tecnicarton, a leader in industrial packaging solutions, announces MAX. It is a laminating technology that increases the resistance of packaging, optimizes its stacking and promotes its reuse possibilities. This reinforces the company's firm commitment to sustainability and the circular economy.
MAX is the seal that culminates an investment process that arose in 2017 with the opening of a plant in Alborç (Tarragona) and that from the first moment specialized in a process of laminating corrugated cardboard sheets. Since then, we have invested in changes, improvements and optimization of the production process to achieve stronger, more durable, easy-to-handle and reusable packaging.
With MAX, DS Smith Tecnicarton has managed to superimpose up to ten layers of corrugated cardboard, standardize special folding slots and achieve an even larger and more resistant box format. It has evolved its laminated packaging from 6 waves to solutions that include up to 10 channels.
This is the case of its heavy-duty packaging, Magnus-IBCKfraft, which has a capacity of 1000 liters and a resistance of 10,000 kg. These bulk packaging is a sustainable and 100% recyclable alternative to traditional plastic IBCs.
With the technology of large laminates, it has been possible to make more special and ergonomic creases, which translates into packaging that is easier to assemble and, in many cases, foldable. This saves space and facilitates the return of packaging in its reuse cycle, being especially useful in the automotive sector, where OEMs rely on solutions such as cardboard Tecnipack, reusing its laminated strips up to 10 times in its internal circuit between Spain-USA.
This technology increases the resistance of the packaging, optimizes its stacking and promotes its reuse possibilities.
The resistance offered by laminate technology has made it possible to replace wooden packaging on many occasions with 100% cardboard packaging. These packaging are lighter, cheaper and completely recyclable.
