El Galician Logistics Function Cluster has presented an extremely positive balance of its activity during the first half of 2025, consolidating its role as a driver of competitiveness for the Galician logistics sector. The entity's strategy has focused on collaborative projects and the promotion of good practice, in order to enhance the efficiency and global projection of the region's companies.
International Expansion and Strategic Alliances
The international visibility of the Galician logistics sector has been a key priority. With the support of the IGAPE, Cluster has participated with own stand at three of the most important logistics fairs in Europe: Empack and Logistics & Automation in Porto, Transport Logistics in Munich and the SIL in Barcelona. These platforms have allowed Galician companies to establish strategic contacts and explore new business opportunities.

Within the framework of the European project Digital Cologistics, promoted by IGAPE, a Technical visit to the Port of Nantes – Saint-Nazaire (France)This initiative seeks to promote the cross-border collaboration in the Galicia–Northern Portugal Euroregion and advance in the digitalization of the sector. A total of 14 companies They benefited from financial support to participate in these international events, strengthening their expansion capabilities.
Talent Training and Development: A Firm Commitment
The Cluster has placed particular emphasis on the development, attraction and retention of talent within the logistics sector. During the first half of the year, 24 specialized training actions, covering crucial topics such as International logistics, customs, freight handling, Artificial Intelligence and key competencies such as languages and negotiation and communication skills.
A total of 565 professionals They participated in these training sessions, funded by the Cluster's agreements with the Ministry of Employment, Trade, and Emigration and the IGAPE (Spanish Institute of Employment and Migration). The objective is clear: align training with the real demands of the sector and facilitate job placement. In this regard, the Cluster will announce the launch of a new employment platform which will be operational in 2025, seeking to connect talent with job opportunities and optimize selection processes for its member companies.
Innovation and Sustainability for SMEs
Commitment to sustainability and innovation has also set the Cluster's agenda. A plan has been implemented advice for carbon footprint diagnosis and planning for its reduction in eight SMEs, promoting more environmentally friendly practices. Additionally, support has been provided two pilot innovation projects in partner companies, contributing to their modernization and adaptation to new market demands.
Strategic Projects and Institutional Collaboration
At the strategic level, the Cluster is finalizing the draft of the Industrial Master Plan for Logistics and the Galician Logistics Strategy in collaboration with the Xunta de Galicia. Meetings have also been held with city councils, other clusters and business associations, seeking to strengthen the institutional collaboration and promote new initiatives. The preparation of a new POCTEP cross-border railway project and the continuity of European projects such as Digital Cologistics, which seek to position Galicia as a connected and constantly evolving logistics node.
A Growing Network and Future Prospects
The Galician Loxistic Function Cluster, founded in 2019, has as its main mission to contribute to the efficiency and competitiveness of the Galician logistics sector, with a particular focus on the innovation and internationalization. Currently, the entity brings together 65 business groups with a global turnover exceeding 11.000 millones de euros and presence in more than 100 countries and all continents.
For the second half of 2025, the Cluster plans to maintain this growth dynamics, promoting new alliances and tools that strengthen the competitiveness of Galician companies in an increasingly interconnected and demanding global environment. The organization invites all companies, logistics operators, industry associations, and public institutions operating in Galicia to join its initiatives to continue driving the development of the sector.
