The CChE presents its annual report
The chorizo, labeled under the CChE brand, has already been distributed in 30 different countries.
El Spanish Chorizo Consortium, voluntary association that brings together companies from the Spanish meat sector, has surpassed in 2016 the successful figure of 850 tons of sealed product for its foreign marketing.
This figure represents a success for such a young association. Specifically, the product that has been labeled in Spain under the brand of CChE It has already been exported to 30 different countries.
All associated companies are experts in the production and export of chorizo and have the common objective of producing and marketing a Spanish chorizo authentic and high quality.
Quality guarantee and positioning abroad
The Consortium is an entity created at the end of 2015 with the objective of ensuring consumers the purchase of authentic Spanish chorizo. The association looks after the interests of its clients, providing at all times the reliability of a quality product of Spanish origin.
The five countries to which exports are mainly directed are France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Portugal and Belgium.
Outside the Spanish borders, the main objective of Consortium is to position a quality product like chorizo abroad. In addition, it is responsible for supervising that other foreign manufacturers do not damage the image of the product.
This Association has just presented its 2016 corporate annual report which reflects the numerous successes celebrated during the past year. According to him he has commented Alfonso Alcázar, president of the Spanish Chorizo Consortium, “after a year of great effort on the part of everyone, the numbers speak for themselves: in this first year we have managed to get 20 Spanish companies to explain in international markets that Spanish Chorizo is unique.”
Currently, the founding companies, all of them with a clear export vocation, are: Alejandro Miguel Group; The Rioja Joy; Weddings 1880; Guissona Food Corporation; Spain and Children; Diaz Chacinerías; Carchelejo; The Bonfire; Rodríguez Sausages; Iglesias Meat Industries; Palcarsa; Tello Meat Industries; Noel; Ramón Ventulá; Goikoa; Coren; Martínez Somalo and Torre de Núñez. In 2016, they also incorporated Earthenware and Galar.
It should be noted that the ICEX - Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade supports the Spanish Chorizo Consortium through the annual preparation of the Chorizo Sector Plan, recognizing the importance of the product in order to defend this product with great tradition in Spain.
Main destinations
The destiny of the exports of cured sausages covers a large number of countries; However, the top 12 export destinations are in Europe. Specifically, the five countries to which exports are mainly directed are France, United Kingdom, Germany, Portugal and Belgium. The evolution of exports in these countries with respect to the previous year reflects constant growth, in such a way that the value of the products and the consumption habit are consolidated.
