The Spain-Oman Business Forum highlights the investment and business growth opportunities driven by the "Oman Vision 2040" plan

El Spain-Oman Business Forum, held this Monday, has highlighted the business and investment opportunities offered by Oman to the private sector, driven by its strategic plan “Oman Vision 2040".

Organized by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, ICEX Spain Export and Investment and CEOEThe forum coincided with an official visit to Spain by an Omani business delegation. Hussain Abdulhussain, a member of the board of the Oman Chamber of Commerce, stressed the country's strategic position and the positive impact of free trade agreements with United States and India“Oman offers a favourable climate for business growth,” he said, mentioning key sectors such as petrochemicals, infrastructure, tourism and technology.

On the Spanish side, Ana de Vicente, deputy director general for Mediterranean countries, Africa and Middle East, stressed Spain's commitment to strengthening trade ties with Oman. “We want to highlight the programs to support internationalization, such as the Fund for the Internationalization of the FIEM Company", he explained, while highlighting the increase in the stock of Spanish investments in Oman.

The meeting also highlighted the excellent bilateral, diplomatic and economic relations between the two countries.

The ambassador of Oman in Spain, Omar Said Omar Al Kathiri, recalled the Omani Government's commitment to economic diversification beyond the energy sector, promoted by the “Oman Vision 2040” plan, and highlighted the contribution of the Chambers of Commerce in strengthening bilateral relations: “Our objectives are common and our efforts can complement each other,” he emphasized.

Likewise, Jaime Montalvo, International Director of the Spanish Chamber, highlighted the stability of the Omani economy and the potential to increase trade between the two countries, as well as the attractiveness of Spain as an investment destination. For his part, Mohammed Al Lawati, from the Ministry of Commerce and Investment of Oman, elaborated on the key sectors of the “Oman Vision 2040” plan, including tourism, logistics, green energy and manufacturing, aimed at achieving sustainable and inclusive development.
