Mobalpa, the renowned custom furniture company with more than 75 years of history, has announced an ambitious expansion plan for the Spanish market. The company, which has managed to establish 16 stores since its arrival in 2019, has set the goal of reaching 40 stores operational by 2028This growth is part of its international strategy, which seeks to consolidate its leadership in Europe.
Mobalpa's business model is based on a franchise system that has proven successful and attractive to entrepreneurs. The initial investment is estimated at 300.000 euros, of which 80.000 euros corresponds to the franchisee's personal contribution. According to the company, the average annual turnover of a store reaches 1,8 million euros in the third year, which allows for a return on investment in just three years. Furthermore, the firm emphasizes that it charges no entry fee or royalties, and the advertising fee is entirely allocated to marketing activities.
Matt Stephens, head of expansion at Mobalpa Spain, highlighted the importance of supporting its partners: "Mobalpa's success is directly linked to the success of our franchisees, which is why we offer comprehensive support that includes training, marketing support, design software, and logistics tools."This philosophy has led to almost 50% of its franchisees now operating more than one point of sale.
Mobalpa's growth strategy is based on three key pillars: innovation, sustainability, and international expansion.
The company manufactures all its products to order, thus avoiding the need for stock and optimizing resources. Its commitment to the environment is reflected in the use of sustainably sourced wood and certifications that endorse its circular economy practices and carbon footprint reduction.
With 235 points of sale in France and a presence in other countries, the company also plans to expand into Belgium, Switzerland, and overseas territories. Stephens concludes with a clear vision for the future: "Our goal is to reach 280 stores in France and 40 in Spain by 2028. We want to consolidate our role as a European benchmark for custom-made furniture.".
