Uttar Pradesh, India’s most populous state, is a cultural and historical hub that plays a crucial role in the country’s economy. Empresa Exterior had the honour of attending the event, invited by the Department of Communications and Foreign Promotion Affairs of the Government of India, highlighting the importance of the fair in projecting trade and investment opportunities in the region.
Minister Goyal emphasized that the «"dual-engine government" of Uttar Pradesh, Led by Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath under the guidance of the Prime Minister, this will be crucial for India to become a $5 trillion economy in this phase, laying the foundation for a $35 trillion country and a 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047. “Uttar Pradesh, thanks to the proactive industrial policies implemented by Shri Yogi Adityanath, has become a comprehensive model of development in the country,” Goyal stated.
Emphasizing the importance of the "Make in India" program, Goyal commented that "the Prime Minister's visionary goal of making India a global manufacturing powerhouse will create employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for young people."
The Minister announced that it has been decided to celebrate the anniversary of «Make in India"coinciding with the opening of the UP International Trade Fair, Goyal added that "the Government of India and the UP Government have consistently prioritized simplifying laws and promoting ease of doing business."
Highlighting the success of the trade show, which brought together more than 2,500 exhibitors and over 100,000 attendees during the four-day event, Goyal praised the UP government's efforts in developing young people's skills, which have allowed industries to access a skilled and talented workforce. "Thanks to this proactive initiative, migration from the state has decreased significantly, enabling companies to expand their operations," he emphasized.
Goyal explained the concept of 4Ds – decisive leadership, demand, demographic dividend and a vibrant democracy – which have led to significant investments flowing into Uttar Pradesh. He also highlighted India’s improvement in ranking on the ease of doing business index, from 142 to 63, reflecting an increase in patent applications and significant progress in improving intellectual property rights.
In closing, Minister Goyal stressed the importance of maintaining quality in products and services, noting that "India is being recognized as a quality supplier" and emphasizing that "we must ensure that products made in India are of high quality, adhering to the vision of zero defects and zero effects."
Through these efforts, the government hopes to not only boost the economy of Uttar Pradesh but also position India as a leader in manufacturing and technological development on the global stage.
