The Moldtrans Group joins the network of cardioprotected spaces

The initiative has been carried out in collaboration with the company Ecarprotección

El Moldtrans Group, A leading Spanish operator of international land, sea, air transport, national distribution, logistics, trade fair services and customs, has joined the growing network of cardioprotected spaces in Spain, by adopting a series of measures aimed at addressing possible cardiovascular accidents in its facilities.

 

These measures include the installation of defibrillators in all delegations of the Moldtrans Group in Spain, the upcoming installation of these devices in the delegations of Portugal and training employees in the use of the devices in case of emergency. The initiative has been carried out in collaboration with the company Ecarprotection, which is part of the "Project Heart Second Chance."

 

More than 100.000 cardiovascular accidents occur each year. Spain, according to data from the Spanish Society of Cardiology. Almost half of these are heart attacks, with mortality rates reaching 10% of those affected. Appropriate intervention in the first 15 minutes after cardiac arrest increases the chances of survival by more than 50%. However, it is often not possible to obtain medical assistance in these critical first minutes. For this reason, the installation of defibrillators is essential for the proper care of victims of a cardiovascular accident.

 

In this sense, the Moldtrans Group has proceeded to install defibrillation equipment in all its branches in Spain and will do so soon in its branches in Portugal. These are defibrillators HEARTSTART HS1 brand Philips, which allow easy use even by inexperienced personnel subjected to a stressful situation, such as having to attend to a cardiac arrest.

In addition, the staff of the Moldtrans Group has received a first aid training course to assist victims of a cardiovascular accident and a protocol of action for this type of situation has also been created. The installation of the defibrillators and the training of the employees has been carried out by the specialized company EcarprotectionThe initiative is part of the «Project Heart Heart Second Chance"...an association dedicated to promoting cardioprotected spaces, training, and outreach with the aim of increasing survival rates in these types of situations.
