Echebastar Fisheries has entered the process of evaluating the program Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) which certifies sustainable and well-managed fisheries.
This assessment process will analyze the environmental sustainability of purse seine catches of skipjack tuna (Katsuwonus pelamis) in the Indian Ocean of the fleet of Echebastar Fisheries.
Should this fishery successfully complete the assessment, all skipjack tuna caught by the company's five vessels in the Indian Ocean will be entitled to carry the blue ecolabel of the MSC, which offers consumers a simple way to make the best environmental choice when it comes to seafood products.
