Andalusia – Aerospace Sector
A total of 464 companies and entities from 29 countries related to the aeronautical and aerospace sector participate in Aerospace& Defense Meetings-ADM Seville 2016, the largest business convention in the aerospace industry held in Spain.
The event, which has as its main stage the Palace of Congresses and Exhibitions of Seville (FIBES), is celebrated between May 10 and 13 and is organized by the Ministry of Economy and Knowledge of the Government of Andalusia, through Extenda-Andalusian Foreign Promotion Agency.
In its third edition, ADM Seville consolidates its biennial and international character, greatly surpassing the participation figure registered in its previous edition, with 44 more firms than in 2014 (+10,5%), and with the presence of the four largest global manufacturers, 51 large contractors and top-level international manufacturers (Tier 1) and 13 aerospace clusters in Europe, America and Africa.
After a first day of professional conferences and round tables, held on May 10, ADM Sevilla 2016 was inaugurated yesterday by the president of the Regional Government of Andalusia, Susana Díaz, the general secretary of the Airbus Group in Spain, Pedro Montoya, and senior representatives of the three Tier1 aerostructures in Spain, Alestis, Aernnova and Aciturri, and the Andalusian company Sofitec, specialized in the development of aerostructures and composite components, main sponsors of the event.
Also present are Tedae, Spanish Association of Technological, Defense, Aeronautical and Space Companies, and Hélice, Andaluz Aerospacial Cluster, as collaborating entities.
The aerospace sector had a turnover of 2.244 million euros in Andalusia in 2014 (latest data available, Hélice Report 2014) and provides 12.688 direct jobs, through 114 companies, and another 12.000 indirect jobs. A sector that represents 1,6% of the Andalusian GDP, and that in the last decade has doubled employment, tripled its turnover and multiplied its exports by four, which in 2015 exceeded 1.500 billion and contribute more than 600 million euros. positively to the trade balance of Andalusia, as well as a high capacity for diversification of products and destinations.
In total, around a thousand professionals from 2016 companies and entities in the aerospace sector from 464 countries will participate in ADM Seville 29, who will develop an agenda of more than 8.000 previously arranged b2b business meetings, through an agenda organization system. and crossing of interests.
In this third edition, ADM reinforces its international character, with up to 208 foreign companies registered (45% of the total). France, with 57; Türkiye, with 29; Germany, with 28, and Italy, with 18, are the countries that contribute the most representation, in addition to Spain. Likewise, there is representation from Portugal; Poland; South Africa; Austria; Belgium; Brazil; Canada; Czechia; Hungary; Philippines; India; Israel; Latvia; Lithuania; Morocco; Holland; United Kingdom; Russia; Sweden; Swiss; Tunisia; China; Mexico and the United States.
