The IX ICT Sector Forum is consolidated as the main showcase of the capabilities of the technology sector in Asturias

Business opportunities abroad for Asturian ICT companies

The ninth edition of the event, organized by the Principality of Asturias Foreign Promotion Society (Asturex) and the ICT Cluster, brings together thirteen Asturian companies and entities and representatives from eight countries in Gijón.

The international presence in the IX ICT Sector Forum consolidates this meeting as the main showcase to publicize the capabilities of the technology sector in Asturias. The ninth edition of the event, organized by the Principality of Asturias Foreign Promotion Society (Asturex) and the ICT Cluster, brings together thirteen Asturian companies and entities and representatives from eight countries in Gijón/Xixón.

The forum began with the opening session, held in the AS5-HUB Building of the Gijón Scientific and Technological Park, in which the Minister of Industry, Enrique Fernandez; the general director of Asturex, Bruno Lopez, and the president of the ICT Cluster, Patricio arias. After the opening session, the managing director of the Asturian consortium of Technological Services (CAST), Angel Cabal, gave the conference Information technologies and territorial structuring.

In this ninth edition, Asturian and international representatives and professionals from public administrations and technological products and services companies will be present. Throughout the two days of the forum, bilateral meetings will be held between the foreign delegations and Asturian companies. The meetings are aimed at showing the products, services and solutions implemented in Asturias and Spain, both in private and public entities, to demonstrate their capabilities and references.

On this occasion, 16 organizations from Argentina, Austria, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, France, Mexico and the Dominican Republic attend.

The objective of the forum is to strengthen and reinforce existing relationships with international delegations, consolidate distribution channels and agreements with collaborators (partners) in destination, establish new contacts and identify possible business opportunities abroad for Asturian ICT companies. The program includes visits to some of the participating companies, which will make their commercial presentations to publicize their products and services.

The Asturian representation at the meetings is made up of the following companies: Espiral Microsystems, CTIC Foundation, Futuver Consulting, Prosafety Software, Seresco, Nueva Red Global, Team EQ, Sispyme, Doc.It, TicMedia Soluciones Profesionales, Merkator, Upintelligence and Hexagom. In all cases, they are highly innovative companies with products and services focused on telecommunications, transportation, digital marketing, team management (people analytics), as well as business administration and applications for tourism and restaurants. They also provide services related to technological consulting or digital transformation through the application of disruptive technologies such as cybersecurity, smart cities, Artificial Intelligence or virtual and augmented reality. The IX ICT Sector Forum, whose first edition was held in 2015, is part of the international promotion plan for the ICT sector.
