The Minister of Industry of Paraguay highlights the great potential of his country for Spanish companies

Gustavo Leite: “We want to become Spain’s best partner”

[Img # 22393]More than eighty Spanish companies have shown interest in Paraguay as a destination future investments at the meeting held at the headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce of Spain ’s relationship with the Minister of Industry and Commerce of Paraguay, Gustavo Leite.

 

The event has been jointly organized by the Secretary of State for Commerce, the Chamber of Spain and Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE). The president of the Chamber of Spain, Joseph Louis Bonet, and the Director General of International Trade and Investment, José Luis Kaiser, With the president of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Paraguay, Ignacio Ibarra, have inaugurated the meeting.

 

The Paraguayan Minister of Industry and Commerce has presented to the Spanish investors a new Paraguay with a stable and open economy, which recorded a growth rate of 4,1% last year and whose business climate has improved considerably in recent years.

 

Stability, predictability, and competitiveness are, according to the minister, the three most outstanding characteristics that Spanish companies will find when investing in his country. He also emphasized competitive energy prices, favorable taxation, and high productivity.

 

Regarding the sectors that Gustavo Leite He identified the following sectors as priorities: agri-food, infrastructure, automotive suppliers, and logistics and transport. “We need Spanish know-how and we want to become the best partner for Spanish companies,” he concluded.

 

 

The president of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Paraguay has encouraged companies to invest in the country and highlighted Paraguay's geostrategic location, situated between two major markets: Argentina and Brazil.
