Food safety management, understood as all those policies and control measures that aim to ensure that food is safe for health, has evolved by leaps and bounds in the last decade.


Extenda – Andalusian Agency for Foreign Promotion, SA, public company of the Junta de Andalucía dedicated to supporting the internationalization of Andalusian companies has organized a day on the role of certifications as a tool and key to access the markets.

 

Food safety management, understood as all those policies and control measures that aim to ensure that food is safe for health, has evolved by leaps and bounds in the last decade. There are different standards that are currently widespread and recognized in Europe and worldwide, and are increasingly in demand by the main food corporations and distribution companies, being key to access to markets.

 

The objective of the course has been to offer an overview of the management systems and agri-food certifications, as well as bringing the Andalusian companies the main technical innovations of the new versions of the schemes ISO 22000:2018, IFS, BRC, Global GAP and Organic Production.

 

Andalucía recovers the positive path with sales worth €3.346 M, which represents a growth of +11,1% compared to the same period of the previous year, 6,8 points more than the average of Spanish sales (€12.561 M and +4,3%). It is the 2nd CCAA that grows the most only behind Madrid, 9th in sales with an increase of +12,5%. Andalucía remains the leader in national exports, with 26,6% of Spain's total. It registers a trade surplus of €2.270 million and a coverage rate of 311%, that is, it exports three times as much as it imports.

 

PRODUCTS: fresh and frozen vegetables, with €1.240 M, 37% of sales and an increase of +14,1%; fresh and frozen fruits, with €707 million, 21,1% and an increase of +11,1%; olive oil, with €637 M, 19% and an increase of 10,2%; preserved fruit and vegetables, with €184 million, 5,5% and an increase of +7,1%; and cereals and milling products, with €86 million, 2,6% and an increase of +69%.

 

PROVINCES: Almeria It is the leader with €1.161 M, 35% and +15,3%; 2nd Seville with €667 M, 19,9% ​​and -0,5%; 3rd Huelva, with €489 M, 14,6% and +9,1%; 4th Malaga, with €305 M, 9,1% and +22%; 5th Cordoba, €237 M, 7,1% and +0,2%; Granada, with €223 M, 6,6% and +14%; Cadiz, with €187 M, 5,6% and +19,5%; and Jaen, with €78 M, 2,3% and +62%.

 

MARKETS: 1º Germany, , with €605 M, 18,1% and +11,2%; 2nd France, with €390 M, 11,7% and +4,9%; 3nd Italy, with €383 M, 11,4% and +38%; 4nd United Kingdom, with €359 M, 10,7%, 12,7%; 5th Netherlands, with €265 M, 7,9% and +3%; 6nd Portugal, with €204 M, 6,1% and -9,6%; 7th United States, with €178 M, 5,3% and +26,5%; 8nd Poland, with €105 M, 3,1% and +29,8%; Belgium, with €77 M, 2,3% and +0,3%; and 10th China, with €55 M, 1,6% and +98%.
