Based on a survey of 148 organizations employing more than 10.000 people, the report analyzes 174 key indicators in areas such as waste management, energy and water consumption, gender equality, and governance.
The report's data reflects significant progress in the adoption of sustainable practices. In the area of governance, 51% of companies have appointed a sustainability officer, and 46% integrate environmental criteria into their supplier contracting.
Regarding the social dimension, 76% of companies guarantee equal pay for gender in management positions, while 58% collect data on occupational risk prevention. Furthermore, 28% conduct environmental awareness activities for their employees.
Environmental sustainability projects are also on the rise: 63% of companies measure their energy consumption, 52% have an energy management policy, and 68% implement measures to reduce the waste they generate.
The Port of Barcelona's 'Positive Impact' strategic sustainability plan for 2030 is based on three pillars: being an environmentally responsible, fair, and ethical port. This plan is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reinforcing the port's commitment to the 2030 Agenda.
