This project, led by the Puerto Rican company ToroVerde Parks, seeks to transform the Serranía de Cuenca into a benchmark for ecotourism and sustainability.
The event, which took place at the Fuensalida Palace in Toledo, attended by the regional president, Emiliano García-Page, marks a significant milestone for this megaproject, which has already been declared of regional interest. The declaration streamlines the administrative procedures for an initiative that has become one of the most significant for the region.
The park, with an estimated investment of more than 90 million euros in its first phase, will extend over 1,000 hectares in the municipalities of Cuenca, Mariana and SotosLocated just 15 kilometers from the city of Cuenca, its design integrates adventure, nature, and comfort, with experiences ranging from large zip lines and nature trails to glamping accommodations and a high-end hotel operated by the renowned international chain Nayara Resorts.
In addition to its recreational offering, the project is distinguished by its focus on sustainability and positive economic impact. The park is estimated to generate around 300 direct jobs and a significant number of indirect jobs. With a projected annual visitor base of hundreds of thousands, it is expected to boost the local economy, boosting sectors such as hospitality, commerce, and transportation.
ToroVerde positions itself as an example of structured investment with a long-term vision, seeking a balance between economic profitability, environmental responsibility, and social benefit. Collaboration with local suppliers and the use of sustainable technologies are pillars of this model.
The Government of Castilla-La Mancha has supported the initiative, seeing it as an opportunity to strengthen the region's tourism offering and attract a new type of visitor. The success of this project could set a precedent for future forms of rural and active tourism in the area, consolidating the Serranía de Cuenca as a top-tier ecotourism destination.
