El Port of Algeciras has made a show of force in Posidonia 2024, the leading ship services sector fair in Europe, which is held in Athens from June 6 to 10.
A record delegation of companies that provide their services to the ships that navigate the Strait of Gibraltar has traveled to the Greek capital to show its wide offer and position Algeciras as a strategic hub in the Western Mediterranean.
The Port of Algeciras stand has been a hive of activity throughout the fair, receiving visits from numerous professionals from the maritime sector. Among the most notable visitors was the Spanish ambassador to Greece, Carles María Casajuana, who met with the president of the Port Community, José Manuel Tejedor, and the head of the Commercial Department of the Port Authority of Algeciras (APBA), Javier Lopez.

In addition to the companies, the delegation also has representatives of the Port Community Association, the Port Authority of Algeciras and the Chamber of Commerce. This last institution, through the Global SME program of the European Union, co-finances the transfers of a part of these companies through ERDF 2021-2027, while the Provincial Council collaborates through the Planning, Coordination and Strategic Development area.
