El Port of Algeciras has concluded a successful multi-sector trade mission in China, highlighting its service offering and global connectivity to a strategic audience in Shanghai.
The mission, co-financed by FEDER 2021-2027 and the Provincial Council, had the active participation of key companies such as Crosscomar, ECS 360, Logistika 360, Mertramar and Total Logistics. He also received the support of Andalucía Trade and the Spanish Economic and Trade Office in Shanghai (OFECOME), whose collaboration was fundamental for the development of the agenda.
During the business presentation in Shanghai, the Port of Algeciras The port showcased its wide range of services, outstanding global maritime connectivity, and firm commitment to innovation. The event attracted leading maritime logistics industry associations, as well as operators and shippers with interests in Spain, who expressed great interest in the opportunities offered by the port.
Nicolas Martinez, Head of Business Development at APBA, emphasized in his speech the importance of the Chinese market for Algeciras. He explained that the port, recognized by the World Bank as the most efficient in Europe, maintains a strong connection with China through four direct lines Operated by Gemini Cooperation and Premier Alliance, these lines connect Algeciras weekly with the six main ports in the People's Republic of China, with a current transit time of 32 days (circling Africa).
In a gesture of gratitude, the Andalusian delegation acknowledged OFECOME's invaluable collaboration in carrying out the mission. The Minister of Economy and Trade, Maria Simó, received a commemorative metope as a token of appreciation for the support provided.
