The Antequera Dry Port is positioned as the logistics epicenter of Southern Europe.

 

The Ministry of Development, Territorial Articulation and Housing, through the Public Agency of Ports of Andalusia (APPA), has led, in collaboration with Idec Group, a key day for the future of Antequera Dry PortThe event consisted of a commercial visit that brought together representatives of the port communities of Algeciras and Malaga, as well as logistics companies in Antequera, with the aim of strengthening the promotion of this ambitious project.

 

This meeting is part of the collaboration agreement signed in February by the counselor Rocio Diaz, the Puerto Seco de Antequera company and the port authorities of Algeciras and MalagaThe alliance seeks synergies to boost the Logistics Area of ​​Antequera, encouraging public-private collaboration, knowledge transfer and sustainability in the international trade.

 

During the welcome, the general director of APPA, Ignacio Alvarez-OssorioHe highlighted the importance of this collaboration: "We are building a solid logistics future for Andalusia, joining forces between the public and private sectors." For his part, Paul Lafargue, from IDEC Group Ibérica, emphasized: "This project represents a unique opportunity for the economic development of the region."

The event featured presentations by Onofre Sánchez, managing director of the Andalusian Logistics Network; Felipe Romera, director of Málaga TechPark; and Angel González, Director of International Relations and Communications at Ontime. These experts shared their vision of the future of logistics and the role of dry ports in the supply chain. A significant announcement was the confirmation of Ontime as the first operator to establish itself in the logistics area of ​​Antequera.

 

The visit to the facilities allowed attendees to experience firsthand the potential of the Dry Port. With 102 developed hectares and an electrical substation, the area is presented as an efficient and sustainable logistics hub. Antequera's strategic location, at the crossroads of European corridors and with rail connections to the ports, makes it a privileged enclave.

 

The proximity of the ports of Algeciras and Malaga, located in the Strait of Gibraltar, a key hub for global trade, further enhances the appeal of the Dry Port. This logistics triangle is poised to become a magnet for innovative companies, boosting the Andalusian economy.
