The Euroempresa Group, publisher of Moneda Única, begins its international expansion through the opening of a new foreign trade magazine and a business center in the Czech Republic, after two years of operation in the international business sector.
The first weekend of November saw the presentation in Prague of the two international projects in which the Euroempresa Editorial group is involved.
The mission of the magazine Moneda Única to provide information on foreign trade and to encourage the internationalization of companies is realized with the launch of a new magazine on international business in the Czech Republic and the opening of the first private Spanish business center abroad, where services will be provided to Spanish companies wishing to establish themselves in the Czech market or access neighboring countries.
The choice of the Czech Republic was not a matter of chance, but rather the result of a detailed analysis of the opportunities offered by this market in the publishing and business services sectors.
The Czech Republic's entry into the European Union next May, its strategic position in the center of Europe, and the interest the country generates among Spanish companies have been determining factors for the company's establishment in the country.
In order to attend the various events scheduled over the weekend to present and inaugurate the new magazine and the business center respectively, Moneda Única invited its Editorial Board to Prague, which took the opportunity to hold one of its meetings.
The Czech market's "Pulsus"
On Friday, October 30, the new magazine Pulsus was launched, the first Czech publication specializing in international trade, which constitutes an information dissemination tool for Czech entrepreneurs.
The event took place in the halls of the Barceló Prague Hotel, in the presence of more than three hundred Spanish and Czech guests. The presentation was presided over by the Spanish Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Santiago Cabanas, who was accompanied by the Director of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in the Czech Republic, Vladimir Prokop; the Director of the International Department of the Czech Chamber of Commerce, Eugen Laczó; the Director of the Zaragoza Chamber of Commerce, José Miguel Sánchez; the advisor to the Euroempresa Group, José Terreros; and the Director of Pulsus, Lara Cerruti.
The Spanish ambassador highlighted the importance of a publishing project of this nature in strengthening relations between Spain and the Czech Republic. In this regard, he stated that "the Spanish government understands the importance of forging closer ties with Eastern Europe at this time, prior to its accession to the European Union." Furthermore, the ambassador noted that "while trade relations have increased in recent years, we are only just beginning, as there is still a long way to go in terms of exchanges between the two countries, especially considering the level of relations with other EU partners."
Prokop and Laczó gave a brief overview of the evolution of trade and bilateral investment between the two countries, highlighting the increases and figures achieved in recent years. They also emphasized the similarities between Spanish and Czech SMEs, stating how beneficial the Spanish business experience since joining the European Union can be for Czech companies.
The director of the Zaragoza Chamber of Commerce, José Miguel Sánchez, pointed out that in the Chamber's internationalization plan, "the presence of Aragonese companies in the Czech Republic is a priority, so in the coming years they will undertake a significant effort to establish a presence in that market through various actions such as trade missions, internships, forums, etc."
For his part, José Terreros, advisor to the Euroempresa Group, emphasized that "the commitment to the Czech Republic has been a constant since the beginning of Euroempresa's journey," adding that "Prague will be the logistics center for the group's expansion and development in Europe."
Pulsus' director, Lara Cerruti, was in charge of presenting the editorial line, the contents and the different sections of the magazine that will make available to Czech entrepreneurs all the information about the foreign sector of their economy.
In the subsequent interview with Cerruti, it was noted that "Pulsus's main objective is to serve as a bridge between the Czech Republic and other countries, offering a clear overview of the country's administration, banking, and business sectors, which in turn encompass other fields of paramount importance for international trade." To this end, the content is structured into the following sections: Administration, Regions, Financial World, Business, Quality, Logistics, Trade Fairs, Real Estate, Tourism, and Culture.
The director explained that the Latin meaning of Pulsus (impulse) relates to the concept of External Impulse promoted by the business center, where the publishing group's headquarters are located. "The magazine is a useful tool for Czech entrepreneurs to develop their potential in the international arena," Cerruti concluded.
Among those attending the event, the presence of representatives from the Public Administration, financial entities operating in Spain and abroad, members of the Editorial Board of Moneda Única, Spanish and Czech media, and numerous businesspeople from both countries stood out, who had the opportunity to meet at the cocktail reception held after the presentation.
"External Boost" for companies
On Saturday, November 1st, the IMEX Business Center was inaugurated by the Spanish ambassador to the Czech Republic, Santiago Cabanas. The center aims to serve as a guide for Spanish companies, as well as a hub for promoting Spanish economy, culture, customs, and gastronomy in the country.
The ambassador praised the Euroempresa Group's initiative for the effort made to launch the project: "I sincerely believe that opening a Spanish business center in Prague is a timely and sensible decision; timely because this country is in the final stretch to join the European Union, with the opportunities that this entails; and sensible because Spain has supported the enlargement process towards the countries of Eastern Europe from the very beginning."
From Euroempresa, advisor José Terreros noted that the business center already has a significant number of Spanish companies interested in establishing themselves there, as well as institutions wishing to use it as their Prague headquarters or for industry presentations, trade missions, or other events. The business center's objective is to provide Spanish companies with a wide range of business services that facilitate their establishment, presence, and achievement of their goals in the Czech Republic and neighboring countries.
Santiago Coello, technical secretary general of the Department of Economy of the Government of Aragon, also spoke at the event, alluding to the great similarity between Czech and Aragonese companies, saying that "our type of industry is very similar to the Czech one. In both cases, they are small and medium-sized enterprises, mainly in the metalworking, engineering and new technology sectors, among others, so Aragonese entrepreneurs will be the first to be able to benefit from the services offered by this business center."
IMEX boasts over 1.200 m2 of space and more than 45 fully equipped offices, suitable for any type of business activity. It also features a multipurpose room of over 120 m2, ideal for hosting events such as company presentations, trade missions, product launches, and catalog presentations. The center offers direct access to secretarial, telephone, translation, and interpreting services, as well as indirect access to prestigious law firms, consultants, economists, and other professionals.
The inauguration was attended by more than 150 representatives of Spanish companies invited by the Euroempresa group, along with the Editorial Board and Administration authorities.
The attendees were then able to enjoy an opera performance at the National Theatre in Prague, where Verdi's La Traviata was performed.
An exceptional host
For the organization of the event, Euroempresa had the honor of having the collaboration of the Spanish ambassador to the Czech Republic, Santiago Cabanas, who in addition to presiding over the presentation table of Pulsus and the opening ceremony of IMEX, organized a reception at the headquarters of the Spanish Embassy for the Pulsus team, Moneda Única and its Editorial Board.
The support provided by the ambassador demonstrates his interest in helping Spanish companies consolidate their internationalization process and strengthen their presence in the Czech Republic, which, according to Cabanas, "looks to Spain as an example of economic progress, thanks in part to its decentralization process, which is just beginning in the Czech Republic."
