The Canary Islands maritime sector seeks to expand its horizons at the Oslo Naval Summit.

 

El maritime sector of the Canary Islands has headed to the Norwegian capital in search of new business opportunities.

 

Under the brand «Canary Islands"The archipelago had a 12 m2 stand in the Spanish pavilion, a strategic space to establish contacts and explore the international marketThis Norwegian biennial has become a key platform for Canarian companies to connect with industry leaders, explore the latest trends and technologies, and expand their business networks. The in-person coordination of the delegation of Proexca en Germany, has facilitated networking and the development of a personalized meeting agenda for each company during the week of the event.

 

The initiative has sparked the interest of several international companies, attracted by the competitive advantages offered by the Canary Islands as a maritime hub. As a result, a reverse trade mission to the archipelago is already being organized, with the aim of providing these companies with an in-depth understanding of the Canary Islands' strengths compared to other European options.

 

Five Canarian companies have been the protagonists of this foray into Norway: Zamakona Yards, Astican, Pérez y Cía, SL, Canarship and ErhardtThe participation of some of them has been financed by the Chambers of Commerce of Gran Canaria and Santa Cruz de Tenerife, demonstrating the institutional commitment to the internationalization of the sector. In addition, the delegation was attended by representatives of the Port Authorities of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Las Palmas, as well as the Canarian Special Zone (ZEC), reinforcing the image of unity and solidity of the Canary Islands maritime sector.

 

To elba buenoBueno, manager of the Canary Islands Maritime Cluster, said that this participation has been an "invaluable opportunity to strengthen ties with the sector at a European level" and for Canary Islands companies to "showcase their expertise and facilitate avenues for international growth." He added that, on its 60th anniversary, "Nor-Shipping has lived up to our expectations, a highly valuable event for the European shipbuilding sector."

 

This action is part of the project A3M Atlantic (1/MAC/1/1.3/0051), an initiative co-financed by 85% by funds SPRING through the Interreg MAC 2021-2027 Program.
