At a crucial time for the fight against climate change and the search for a sustainable energy future, the Sevillian company Elmya stands as a national and international reference in the sector of renewable energy. With an annual growth of 25%, the company not only consolidates its position as a leader in Andalusia, but also actively contributes to the decarbonization of the global economy.

Founded in 1966 by José María Piñar Parias and Rafael Ramos, Elmya has traveled a path marked by innovation and excellence. Since its beginnings as an electrical installation company, it has evolved to become a reference builder in the field of renewables, promoting projects for both third parties and its own.

“The market now recognizes us as one of the leading companies in the renewable energy sector, specializing in photovoltaic technology and energy storage,” emphasizes José María Piñar, CEO and president of the firm. “We have a highly qualified technical team and we distinguish ourselves through quality and reliability. We are a company that delivers on its promises, and the market knows it.”

Elmya's success is based on a clear expansion and diversification strategy.

The company has been able to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the international market, establishing a presence in Spain, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Greece, Argentina and the Middle East.

A fundamental milestone in Elmya's career was its jump to international market in 2010, beginning with Italy. Subsequently, between 2012 and 2019, the company consolidated its transformation by going from being an electrical installer to a construction company. In 2019, a new milestone marked its growth: the creation of Elmya Energy, a business line that allowed it to take another step in the sector's value chain.

Transformative agreements and strategic alliances

2023 has been a year of great progress for Elmya. The firm has closed a joint venture with RPC, the development arm of CPPIB, a Canadian pension fund with around 600 billion in operation. This agreement will allow the development of four gigawatts of solar and photovoltaic storage in United Kingdom, significantly driving Elmya Energy's growth in this key market.

Institutional support as a catalyst for success

Elmya has not been alone on her path to success. The company has had the fundamental support of the Junta de Andalucía, through Andalucía TRADE. This agency has been key in the internationalization of the company, providing it with the tools and knowledge necessary to access new markets and consolidate its global presence.

"Andalucía TRADE was a very important catalyst in the company's internationalization," he says. José María Piñar"We took our first steps in 2010, when Elmya was much smaller, and those offices and branches of Andalucía TRADE were a great help in reaching markets where the Elmya brand was not yet known. We are very grateful."

A bright future on the horizon

With a solid track record and an ambitious strategic plan, Elmya is positioned as a key player in the global energy transition. The company aims to continue growing organically, expanding its presence in new markets and technologies, and consolidating its position as a leader in the development of sustainable renewable solutions.

Elmya's commitment to innovation, quality and social responsibility makes it a benchmark for the energy sector of the present and the future. Her success story is an inspiring example of how Spanish companies can compete and succeed on the global stage, while driving positive change towards a greener and more sustainable future.
