Spain, Global Platform for Multilatinas
For its part, Núria Vilanova highlighted the fundamental work of the CEAPI, an organization that brings together more than 350 partners from 18 countries, united under the motto «Believe, create and grow in Latin America"This creed translates into concrete actions such as promoting economic growth, public-private collaboration, fighting inequality, supporting female talent and leadership, and promoting the transformation of multilatinas into multi-iberoamericanas."
Vilanova emphasized a paradigm shift: "Multilatinas have stopped investing only in Latin America And now they choose Spain for their globalization: they have become multi-Ibero-American.” The president of CEAPI presented compelling data to support this claim: Latin America represents 30% of the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) from Spain and is the source of 9.4% of all accumulated investment that the country receives, with Mexico contributing half of this figure.
Núria Vilanova emphasized that Latin America is now key to the Spanish economy: "Multinational companies have stopped investing only in Latin America and are now choosing Spain for their globalization: they have become multi-Ibero-American."
A CEAPI study reveals that the main motivations for investing in Spain are the ease of connection with Latin America (75%), the importance of Spanish companies as clients (55%), and the consideration of Spain as a springboard for accessing other European markets (55%).
