Andalusian companies promote their services for the sustainable management of cities in Peru

A total of eight Andalusian companies of the services sector related to Sustainable Cities have promoted their benefits in Lima Peru) within the framework of a trade mission organized by Ministry of Economy and Knowledgethrough Extenda-Andalusian Foreign Promotion Agency, between last April 25th and today, Thursday, April 27th, for which they have had the support of the Extenda antenna in Lima.

 

This mission has included the celebration of the technical day 'The Andalusian experience in Sustainable Cities', organized by extend in collaboration with Peruvian public administrations and the Interamerican Development Bank, in which Andalusian companies They have shared with some 90 attendees their knowledge and experience in urban interventions aimed at facilitating sustainable growth.

 

In this sense, during the three days that the mission lasted, the Andalusian firms They have had the opportunity to learn closely about the Peruvian market and the characteristics of the country's services sector, in addition to showing the Peruvian public administration and the private sector their experience and technical capacity in providing solutions for the management of water services. and sanitation, urban transport and mobility, urban planning, energy or connectivity.

 

Likewise, this initiative has been useful for companies to establish contacts both with the Peruvian public administration, as well as with other clients, partners and potential suppliers in the private sector, in order to identify business opportunities. To do this, they had a two-day agenda of personalized individual interviews, which took place on April 26 and 27.

The Andalusian companies that have participated in the trade mission direct to Peru They are AGB Labs, Ayesa, Prodiel, Suroeste Arquitectos (Seville); Desnivel, Cuerva, UC10 (Granada); and UMIRS (Córdoba). The organization of this action by Extenda will be co-financed with funds from the European Union the PO FEDER of Andalusia 2014-2020, endowed with a community contribution of 80%.

Representatives of all of them have participated in the technical conference held on the 25th, presenting to prominent institutional officials, officials and local companies of interest their capabilities for the management of different aspects related to sustainability in cities: from urban planning to construction, quality of water, or protection against landslides, topics of great interest in the country given the frequency with which adverse natural phenomena occur.

 

The beginning of the day was led by representatives of Peruvian public administrations such as the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation and the Municipality of San Isidro, who explained their current needs. After that, those responsible for Suroeste Arquitectos analyzed the foundations on which the sustainable city project is based; while Prodiel identified the trends in the renewable energy market worldwide.

 

Likewise, representatives of the UC10 firm presented 'Q Sostenible', a pioneering and leading sustainable building evaluation and certification method. Spain; after which Desnivel Obras exposed the potential of the barriers Debris Flow to face the hauicos in the Andean Cities. He also intervened AQGQ Labs to analyze whether the existence of a city without wastewater is possible; Ayesa, who spoke about the Basin Plans and their application to Territorial Planning; and UMIRS, which presented different security and citizen protection systems.

 

Opportunities in Peru

 

According to data from extend, the Peruvian economy has already had several years of sustained growth, with favorable forecasts for the coming years. In fact, the IMF has certified a GDP increase of 3,7% in 2016 and forecasts 4,2% for 2017, driven by public investment and increased activity in the mining sector. These data would place Peru as one of the fastest growing countries in the region, only surpassed by Dominican Republic and Panama.
