The state of Virginia across United States has become an important player in the field of innovation and business internationalization, actively seeking business opportunities in various countries. In this context, the Spanish company Gedeth Network, specialized in the internationalization of companies, has successfully organized a multi-sector mission of Virginia companies to Spain. This initiative responds to the growing interest of American companies in establishing businesses in Spain and taking advantage of the opportunities and funds associated with the projects of the European Union.

The trade mission, which took place last May, resulted in more than 40 meetings over three days for a delegation of eight Virginia companies from various sectors, including defense, food and automotive.

American companies held institutional business meetings with various public agents such as Madrid Investment Attraction

Virginia is home to one of the most important industrial fabrics on the east coast of the United States, favored by its proximity to Washington and the large number of government agencies located in the north of the state. In addition, it has excellent infrastructure, a highly qualified workforce and an attractive advantage in terms of operational and fiscal costs compared to most states in the region. In addition to the state's traditional industries, there is a flourishing high-tech industry and cutting-edge services.

From a business point of view, the presence of professional services, industry, defense (CIA headquarters), technology, cybersecurity and automotive companies stands out, with companies recognized as Amazon, AOL, Booz Allen & Hamilton, Capital One Financial and Northrop Grumman.

"While Virginia is little known to Spanish companies, it is a state with a recognized pro-business character that has long been strongly committed to foreign investment and laying the foundations and mechanisms to promote it, with the creation of 86 special economic zones and the Technology Zones“The trade visit by Virginia companies represents an important step in boosting business opportunities on both sides of the Atlantic,” says Juan Millán, managing partner of Gedeth.
