Galician companies expand their commercial horizon in Morocco

A growing market

The director of the Galician Institute for Economic Promotion (Igape), Covadonga Toca, inaugurated the conference "Morocco: Economy and business opportunities in Africa for Galician companies", held on the occasion of the renewal of the services offered by the Igape Antenna installed in the country.

The event, which took place at the headquarters of the Xunta de Galicia, brought together a large number of businessmen and representatives of entities related to foreign trade, with the aim of raising awareness of the business opportunities that the Moroccan market offers for Galician companies.

 

Morocco It is in seventh place in terms of overall Galician exports. During the last year, Galician exports to Morocco exceeded 1.260 million euros, highlighting sectors such as textiles (695 million euros), automotive (114 million euros), mineral products (112 million euros), metalworking (86,5 million euros) or agri-food (79,3 million euros).

 

The Igape Antenna in Morocco facilitates the commercial work of the more than 600 Galician companies that operate in this country. Among the main services provided by this antenna network is initial support and advice, support for implementation at the destination, the preparation of commercial agendas or support for commercial expansion at the destination.

 

Individualized and free services

 

"In this way, individualized and free services are offered to Galician companies, business associations and institutions, acting as a bridge that connects the company with its target market, allowing its internationalization in a suitable way," he highlighted. Play Carús.

 

Support for internationalisation

 

The Xunta de Galicia, through Igape, offers a wide range of programs and actions regarding internationalization to support Galician companies in their foreign expansion. Among these programs are interns and internationalization managers, lines Galicia Exporta Companies, OOII and Galicia Exporta Digital, or the Foexga Plan in collaboration with Chambers of Commerce.

 

"And this year we are also adding a new line of direct loans to finance the establishment of Galician companies abroad," added Toca Carús.

 

Promote public-private cooperation

 

The director of Igape concluded her speech by noting that "promoting public-private cooperation will allow us to maintain and strengthen collaboration with the Galician productive sector, cooperation that is necessary to help companies overcome the obstacles they face when exporting and expanding into international markets."

The day «Morocco: Economy and business opportunities in Africa for Galician companies"is yet another example of the commitment of the Xunta de Galicia with the promotion of the internationalization of Galician companies.
