Six companies of the Murcia, belonging to sectors such as food, wine, furniture and educational services, are participating this week in a Trade mission to Malaysia and Singapore.
The first stop was in Kuala Lumpur, where the companies held a meeting in the Commercial Office of Spain to explore the potential of Malaysia as a new market. With a population of 32 million and a growing economy – the country’s GDP is projected to increase by 4,2% in 2024 – Malaysia is seen as an attractive option due to its high degree of trade openness and low tariffs.
Singapore, the mission's next destination, offers a small but high-spending market. With a population of 5,7 million, Singapore acts as a gateway to Southeast Asia, thanks to its modern infrastructure, low taxes and a regulatory environment favorable to international trade. Some of the Murcian companies already have export experience in this country.
