Among the companies, most of which are software firms, are Solteco, Grupo Idea, and Lexia Park.
A Spanish business mission made up of twenty-six technology companies arrived in Hong Kong for market research in the first stage of a trip that will take them to three other Chinese cities.
"The main objective of our trip is to prospect the Hong Kong market," Lluis Lluch, director of international promotion at the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, told EFE.
"Each company has an agenda and objectives that range from seeking local companies to establish collaborations for product development; to selling products and outsourcing," Lluch explained.
The mission, called "China Technology Bridge", which will visit this country for ten days, has been organized by the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, with the support of the Higher Council of Chambers of Spain, and the Trade Development Council (TDC) of Hong Kong.
In 2006 they already organized a similar mission but focused solely on the cities of Beijing and Shanghai.
The mission program also includes a stop in the cities of Shenzhen, where they will participate in the "China Hi-Tech Fair", one of the most important in the sector; and Suzhou, to visit the technology park developed between the governments of China and Singapore.
Shanghai will be the final stage of the trip, and in this stage, in addition to participating in the "Global IT Summit" fair and congresses, they will maintain contacts with companies in the sector and visit the Yang Pu science park.
Among the firms, most of them software companies, are Solteco, Grupo Idea and Lexia Park.
