The II International Maritime Congress of Bilbao is on the doorstep

The Vizcaya Association of Merchant Navy Captains (AVCMM), the Port Authority of Bilbao and the University of the Basque Country-Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea (UPV-EHU) organize the event.


[Img # 22991]La Vizcaya Association of Captains of the Merchant Navy (AVCMM), the Bilbao Port Authority and University of the Basque Country-Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea (UPV-EHU) organize the II International Maritime Congress to be held in Bilbao from May 16 to 18, and which will address from a multidisciplinary perspective the different areas in which maritime activity takes place, with special attention to the port area.

 

The Congress is held under the title “The maritime industry in the 21st century” and seeks to consolidate itself as a meeting forum for professionals in the sector. The sessions will take place at Auditorium of the University of the Basque Country (UPV), on Abandoibarra Avenue, and its opening will be carried out by the president of the Port Authority of Bilbao, Asier Atutxa.

 

 

The Congress is held under the title “The maritime industry in the 21st century” and seeks to consolidate itself as a meeting forum for professionals in the sector.

 

 

The event on Tuesday, the 16th, will be structured around six themes: shipbuilding, legislation, cruise ships, fishing industry, training and maritime safety.

 

Wednesday, the 17th, will also consist of six sessions: PRL in the maritime field, maritime traffic, maritime insurance, history and sociology, technology and innovation, and R&D.

 

Finally, the closing day will feature a double session on Thursday, May 18, which will address, on the one hand, the “Management of ports and port facilities” and, on the other hand, the “Ports of refuge".
