Conference on energy within the EU
The company has acquired a 16% stake in the TAP project.
This morning a working meeting took place on the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) project in which the following have participated EU Secretary of State, Iñigo Méndez de Vigo, Secretary of State for Energy, Alberto Nadal, and the President of Enagás, Antonio Llardénas well as other personalities. The project is part of the Southern Gas Corridordesigned to supply gas from Caspian Sea to Europe.
The presentation of TAP project, an an 871-kilometer-long gas pipeline that will link Türkiye with Italythrough Greece y AlbaniaIt was carried out by the CEO of Enagás, Marcelino Oreja Aburúa, and the CEO of TAP, Ian Bradshaw.
The gas pipeline will be a complementary supply route to the interconnection with France through the Pyrenees (midCat), which is also considered PCI.
Enagás began its international operations in 2011, with its stake in the TLA Altamira regasification plant in Mexico and its involvement in the development of gas pipelines in that country. Currently, Enagás also has strategic infrastructure in Chile, where it holds a stake in the Quintero LNG terminal, and in Peru, where it owns 20% of Transportadora de Gas del Perú (TgP), has acquired 30% of Compañía Operadora de Gas del Amazonas (Coga), and was awarded, in consortium with Odebrecht, the Southern Peruvian Gas Pipeline project.
