The Elcano Royal Institute invites the presentation of the Elcano Policy Paper “Spain in the world in 2021: perspectives and challenges”, a document coordinated by Ignacio Molina, principal researcher at the Elcano Royal Institute.
The event will be moderated by José Juan Ruiz, president of the Elcano Royal Institute (@ElcanoJjRuiz).
The main researchers of the Elcano Royal Institute will participate Felix Arteaga, Lara Lazaro (@lazarotouza), Ignatius Molina (@_ignaciomolina) Iliana Olivie (@iolivie) and Miguel Otero (@miotei).

This is the ninth edition of the work prepared annually by the team of researchers from the Royal Elcano Institute to analyze the main features of the international scenario, and the challenges that Spain must face in 2021.
El document offers a general overview of foreign policy (which highlights the Government's purpose of promoting a new Foreign Action Strategy), analyzes the issues related to the country image management and cultural diplomacy, prospects for recovery of the world economy, the main threats to security, the role of Spain in global affairs (including development cooperation policies, the fight against climate change, the promotion of human rights and gender equality), the initiatives promoted from the European level in response to the crisis, and in particular the digital agenda and the energy transition, and reviews the challenges of Spanish foreign action in the different regional spaces: USA, Latin America, Maghreb and Middle East, Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia-Pacific.
The presentation will take place next Thursday, February 25, 2021, from 12:30 to 13:30 p.m. CET (UTC+1)
