Spain is a key player in the TEN-T, being the crossing point for two of the nine European corridors: the Atlantic and the Mediterranean. Puente stated that these corridors have the potential to transform the Iberian Peninsula From a "dead end" to a strategic "gateway" for trade and mobility in Europe. Therefore, he called for political will to ensure the completion of cross-border connections and guarantee the continuity of these vital corridors.
The Brussels meeting was not only a reflection on the past, but also a platform for discussing the next steps to complete the TEN-T core network by 2030, thus strengthening transport connectivity and sustainability across Europe.
