Spain strengthens its position as a magnet for international talent with the support of EMS and Tecniberia

Spain is consolidating its role as a key destination for highly qualified professionals, thanks to a strategic collaboration across EMS – Employee Mobility Solutions, a leading company in international mobility of human capital, Tecniberia, the association representing Spanish engineering, and various public administration entities. This alliance seeks to facilitate the incorporation of international talent, especially in the engineering sector, by simplifying processes and adapting to new regulations.

A clear example of this collaboration was the recent conference "Displacement of foreign workers to Spain for engineering projects"This event, sponsored by EMS and Tecniberia, emerged as a direct response to the growing demand for international engineering professionals in Spain. During the event, practical and detailed information was provided on the various available immigration options, including the Entrepreneurs Law, the Blue Card, intercompany transfers (ICT), and internship permits. Tax aspects relevant to international workers, such as the expatriate regime and double taxation agreements, were also addressed.

A crucial factor in the success of these initiatives is the active participation of the AdministrationAt the meeting, government representatives offered an updated overview of immigration procedures, with particular emphasis on the entry into force of the new Immigration Regulation (Royal Decree 1155/2024), effective May 20, 2025, which significantly updates the regulatory framework for international mobility.

In this context, María Eugenia Alcántara MirallesThe Deputy Director General of Immigration and International Mobility at the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration emphasized that "the Administration not only applies the regulations, but also actively participates in their development and in the issuance of criteria that guarantee their correct application throughout the territory."
